Product Manager (reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing)
Position Overview
The Product Manager will work with internal team members to help evolve the software and solutions offered by CCI to deliver best in class channel marketing applications. The Product Manager will be involved (at least in part) in all aspects of product design, management, promotion/messaging, and client deployment to assure that our solutions and customer experiences meet or exceed industry needs and competitive offerings., The position will also be involved in key “build vs buy” discussions and partner engagement for all technology partners who can add value to CCI offerings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Coordinate and run the Vision Team meetings for all CCI products and establish a clear product roadmap for all solutions.
Identify and work with internal teams to deliver the “Whole Product Solution”, including QA, training, user docs and support with associated processes.
Own the communication of the product development lifecycle; finalize product messaging and feature prioritization
Create and maintain all technical and functional specs for each solution, and act as the vision communication lead, in tandem with the IS management team, to IS team members developing the specifications.
Engage with clients and review client/user recommended changes to enhance product/platform functionality, including managing focus groups and other forms of research to discover our user’s value in a product offering
Evaluate and prioritize specific client fixes and enhancements globally to all clients. Schedule updates and manage user communications
Research and recommend ways to improve system usability from the client’s perspective.
Proactively research the competition to see what solutions they are offering and how they compare to CCI’s solutions
Become the product expert in sales and potentially assist with deployment situations requiring special handling
Review enhancements for “build vs buy” , evaluate potential technology partners for “Fit” with CCI requirements.
Subsequently, identify and manage requirements for Technology Partner integration—both ways
Work closely with internal teams to estimate work and timelines for new development, and provide competitive, profitable pricing for all solutions. Set and validate pricing options.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure proper training for new solutions or functionality is available at time of release, and are sufficient for company wide training.
Support the Vice President of Sales and Marketing in establishing and maintaining relationships with industry and marketplace contacts to provide the information necessary to develop and drive the development of market responsive and innovative technology strategies.
Working with the Product Vision Team, help craft the companies strategy for partnership and integration with enterprise partners such as Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce.com, SAP etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Education: Applicant should have BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree. Should have work experience in managing projects and people in development, technical service and quality assurance.
Technical Skills: Applicant should have experience with tools for planning and implementing software projects, project management, and quality assurance, and possess an understanding and familiarity with SQL Server and .NET projects.
Attributes
Should have two to three years product management experience for a software company, ideally with SaaS solutions. Applicant should be an effective communicator, able to translate complex business requirements information into strategies that can be understood, embraced, and actionable by the IS team. Applicant needs well-developed judgment and problem solving skills in both the technical and operational area. Applicant needs a high level of initiative and must be comfortable in a learning environment. Applicant needs to be strongly motivated. Applicant must be passionate about creating compelling user experiences and making coworkers’ jobs easier. Applicants need to have a sense of software usability. Applicant must be able to look at a tool interface and judge whether it will be successful and articulate how to improve it.
